Professional mobile radio (PMR) users require fast and reliable communications among teams working together, often in critical and/or emergency situations. Whether law enforcement, search and rescue, transport or public utilities, PMR users require guaranteed voice service, anywhere and anytime, in order to carry out their tasks. Network failure is not an option; therefore the network should not be infrastructure-dependent. Police need to be able to set up a network on the fly and don’t have the luxury of waiting for the network to come on line.
MaxTech offers an effective solution for professional communications, supporting both TETRA and mobile mesh technologies. Using this solution, PMR users can communicate with one another over mesh using their handheld devices. Vehicular radios can use the same technology to connect to the nearest TETRA antenna for external communications (e.g., to headquarters). Law enforcement and emergency responders, for example, gain unhampered mobility in the field as their voice and broadband data communications are unaffected by high-speed travel and/or challenging physical conditions. The solution also supports external gateway to VHF/UHF, GSM, VSAT and other external networks, as required. The network determines best routing and optimal technology (mesh or TETRA) to use based on location, topography, network availability, etc.
Advantages:• Immediate inter-group communications over mesh
• Unhampered mobility withouto dependency on infrastructure
• Efficient operations with high quality voice
• Reduced capex with less equipment
• Better coverage, users determine coverage area (via mesh) rather than network
• High QoS for external calls since less calls are routed via TETRA antenna
