MaxTech Networks to Supply Savion Handheld Radios to Elite Special Forces Unit

Savion Mobile Mesh System guarantees communications in unfamiliar terrain and extreme conditions without physical infrastructure

MaxTech Networks announced today that it has signed an agreement with a national military organization (which cannot be disclosed at this time) to supply Savion handheld professional mesh radios to that organization's special operations units.

The special forces unit needs to operate in unfamiliar territories and maneuver through difficult terrains to complete their mission. Reliable and immediate communications among soldiers in the field, as well as uplinks to military headquarters, are critical to safety and success. Equally important, military and tactical operations require maximum mobility and flexibility, without having to worry about coverage and the presence of a fixed communications infrastructure.

"We selected the Savion Mobile Mesh System after extensive testing in a wide variety of scenarios and environments, such as open areas, urban settings, inside buildings and tunnels," stated Lieutenant A., who was in charge of the field testing for the special forces. "In all of these tests, Savion proved its ability to deliver voice and data communications to each and every individual, regardless of the physical conditions. During the tests, our teams on the ground deployed Savion the network very quickly, without requiring external technical support."

Following the excellent results with the special ops units, larger military units are now testing the Savion system for a general scale deployment.

Savion's mobile mesh system guarantees voice and data at all times to any soldier or unit in the field. In addition, each Savion device can serve as an external gateway to enable access to legacy networks, such VHF/UHF and Tetra. This feature allows communication with the higher echelon network, creating continuous command and control hierarchy for military operations.

“Using MaxTech’s unique voice-optimized mobile mesh network technology, Savion delivers communication and networking in scenarios and environments that until recently were considered to be impossible,” said Mr. Michael Agam, VP Marketing at MaxTech. “By dynamically creating its own virtual infrastructure, Savion allows special ops personnel to communicate with each other - anywhere and anytime – a critical prerequisite for a successful mission.”

“We are seeing a common trend around the world with respect to military communications – the growing operational need to provide robust and high quality voice and data down to the last soldier on ground," concluded Agam. "The Savion system, based on the implementation of MaxTech's mobile mesh network technology, is the ideal solution to meet this pressing need."
